The Director of the Southern Region of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), S. Balachandran, has informed that a low-pressure zone is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal on the 7th of May (Sunday)

Sudden strengthening of low pressure area into a storm- Less severe temperatures in Chennai in May!!
According to Mr. S.Balachandran, director, RMC, Chennai, the low pressure area that will form in Bay of Bengal on 7th of May would strengthen into a storm on 9th of May.

Moderate rains today in Chennai and very heavy rains in 21 districts belonging to TN!!
The director of Chennai Meteorological Center Mr. R, Senthamarai Kannan in a press release has mentioned that in the lower layers of upper air atmosphere in south India there is an area where easterlies and westerlies meet.
