The graduates who passed out recently and looking for a job tend to send their application through casual e-mail as though it is part of their daily entertainment!
Such casual e-mail can lose your trustworthiness.
There is an organised and dignified method in applying for jobs through e-mail!
- First, let us have a look at your –email address: if it is like ‘smartbalu@gmail.com’ or ‘sweetheartriya@gmail.com’, it is certain that the official reading the application will be irritated and form an immediate negative impression. Hence, it is better to have a separate and dignified –email address for your job applications!
- Second, please note that a short covering letter is very essential while sending job applications through e-mail. You have to start your covering letter addressing the official s per his designation and with ‘Dear Sir’ or ‘Dear Team Leader’.
- You can give your important personal details in a short paragraph of 3 or 4 sentences. Do not forget to mention the post you are applying for.
- Covering letter must be in good, readable English. It should not be as though you are writing to your close friend! As a typical example do nopt use the texting language terms such ‘hi’ or ‘hru’ as though you are chatting!
- Please mention the subject at the start of the letter where you need to fill up the details of designation or the job you are applying for.
- Remember, the covering letter should be in your own words and should not appear as though it has been lifted from the internet!
- Remember to keep your photograph as an MS Word file and attach it.
- Avoid sending application by forwarding it from another e-mail!
If required, you can attach your scanned signature at the end of the letter.
A single mail should be sent to a single company address. Do not mark ‘CC’ or ‘BCC’ which will make the receiver know about others who are getting a copy of your application! It is not at all decent!
Hope you have recorded all these instructions carefully! Now, you are ready to send your e-mail applications in the correct method! Finish the application & press the ‘send’ button!
All the best!
