Panagal Park Metro Station: A Transit Milestone in the Making

The Panagal Park (PP) Metro station, located in Chennai’s bustling commercial hub, is set to transform the region’s transit landscape. Once operational by March 2027, this underground station will alleviate traffic congestion and provide efficient public transportation to an area previously underserved.

Key Highlights:

Station Details:

- Largest underground station in Corridor 4’s Phase II Package 2 (Boat Club to Kodambakkam).

- Dimensions: 19 meters wide, 319 meters long, and 26 meters deep.

- The station area measures 210 meters, with a 110-meter crossover allowing trains to switch tracks.

Construction Progress:

- 40% of the work is completed.
- Base slab construction is finished, and the crossover is 80% complete.
- Concourse and roof slab works are ongoing.

Access Points:
- Five planned entry points: Sivagnanam Street, Pinjala Subramaniam Street, Prakasam Street, Bashiyam Street, and Nageswaran Road.

The station, constructed by ITD Cementation India, is part of Corridor 4, spanning 26.1 km from Lighthouse to Poonamallee Bypass. With another crossover at the Lighthouse Metro station, this project promises to streamline urban transit and reduce travel woes in Chennai.
